DUMBO is one of the newest additions to the hood and oh, are we grateful for it! This restaurant is taking Italian eats to the next level in Ubud. Split over two floors DUMBO is split over two levels with two different concepts based on the time of day. From 9am an all-day dining menu is featured downstairs in the coffee lab (they’ve employed some of the best baristas in Indonesia) and soothe your caffeination cravings. The menu features gems like the breakfast parfait, crumbed eggplant sandwich, arancini and a truffle aioli breakfast burger (drooling yet?).
In the evening, at 4pm, the scene switches. Swap out the coffee for a creative cocktail and head upstairs to experience the authentic wood-fired Italian food! Are you a pizza person or a pasta person?! You will be both at DUMBO. We cannot choose which we like better. They’ve nailed the woodfired pizza, with a variety of delicious and innovative toppings. And that pasta is oh, so good, and hand made daily. (Don’t go past the specials of the day). The menu is also suitable for groups who want to share, with a selection of smaller eats and bar snacks to share.
One thing we can’t go past mentioning is the interiors. We’re seriously crushing on the interior design of DUMBO. It’s unlike any other restaurant in Bali; high quality marbles meet earthy woods and painted brick walls. Okay… we aren’t interior experts with the vernacular but trust us when we say, you’ll want to bring your cameras when you eat here!
Dumbo’s food is 100% vegetarian, they strive strives to be a green and clean, Earth-friendly restaurant. Most of their raw ingredients are harvested the day before at organic and natural system farms. 1% of all profits from DUMBO are donated to Orangutan protection in Indonesia.
Dumbo is open from 9am – 4pm daily.
Modern woodfired Italian food and a seriously good coffee lab in the most insta-worthy of surroundings!
