It’s a hidden gem that most Ubudians were unaware of until recently when Biji World exploded onto the nightlife scene in Ubud! They’ve developed a stellar rep for their evening entertainment, but Biji World is oh, so much more than that. First of all, don’t be thrown by the exterior (what looks like a motorbike dealership), the magic lies beyond that. Walking through the entrance your eyes will feast upon the spectacle of nature that lay ahead of you. This open air space features lush jungle surroundings, a giant tree in the center and a natural spring lake (home to two adorable ducks!). This is an instagrammers dream!
We’re always searching for a place where we can work, eat, and socialize in one place. And Biji World serves us all of our dreams! This place seriously has it all, once you arrive, there really isn’t any reason to leave. Open from 9am, their restaurant serves up local favorites and international food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a Japanese twist on many of the menu items. Dine in a breezy open-air setting, at a table, lounge or sunken seating in the middle of the lake. Alternatively if air-conditioning is your jam, there are plenty of bright enclosed spaces to choose from as well.
Right now Biji is well-known for its nighttime vibes, with live music and open mic from 7pm on Wednesday (Open Mic), Friday, Saturday and most Sundays. Fostering of both music and art is huge here, and there is even an in-house state-of-the-art recording studio and art gallery with ongoing exhibitions throughout the year. The recording studio is available for rental or for musicians who want to create their own music and there’s a talented producer and great sound engineers available to aid in the creative process!
During the day it is a great space to chill and get work done. The staff are happy for you to do your digital nomading and even have work meetings. If you are a coffee enthusiast or just need your fix, the air-conditioned coffee lab is calling your name! Located inside the gallery the expert roasters and baristas can take care of all of your caffeine needs. If you become addicted to their coffee you can take home their house roasted coffee beans direct from the lab itself!
Another awesome thing about Biji World is that they can accommodate large gatherings for any occasion, which can be hard to find in Ubud. Parties, birthdays, meetings, and other functions are all taken care of. The Red Room even has its own bar and stage and can accommodate 40 people sitting or 100 standing. Food and beverages can be provided and there is even an on-site bakery to take care of your birthday cake (vegan and gluten free options available to suit everyone)!
