Bali Buda is not only a restaurant, it is an icon of the hood! Established in 1994, Bali Buda was the first on the scene to promote healthy living and eating- a lifestyle that Ubud is now renowned for! These game changers spearheaded the organic food movement on the island of Bali. They seriously know what they’re doing in the kitchen and produce meals that are as delicious as they are healthy.
They earn an A+ for the epic variety of foods on the menu; all day breakfasts, Italian, raw vegan foods, traditional Indonesian meals and a huge selection of juices and desserts. The meals are homemade onsite every day using; primarily organic produce, free-range eggs, hormone & antibiotic free chicken, coconut oil for cooking and (of course) they’ve ditched the MSG! The menu caters to almost all dietary requirements with a large amount of gluten and wheat free options available. It is the only place in the hood that offers a gluten-free pizza bases (and they’re deee-lish!).
Located on Jalan Jembawan Bali Buda is a central icon in Ubud, within walking distance to most locations in town. The restaurant is a haven for meals out with friends or to cozy away in a quiet nook with a novel. If you don’t want to go out, or have been struck with a little rainy-season laziness, Bali Buda also offers delivery with their full menu listed on their website.
Just around the corner from the restaurant you can find ‘Buda Mart’, Bali Buda’s health food store full of take-home goodies (food and otherwise).
